Job Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiate, place orders, follow-up, and expedite as required on purchasing orders and contracts for commodities or services as are assigned to this position. All purchase transactions shall reflect the least cost promise, consistent with required quality levels, and desired delivery schedules. Analyzes and plans material requirements by determining the quantity and date materials are needed to ensure optimal inventory levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize system to analyze material requirements to support upstream demand. Accountable for locating vendors who are capable of supplying an acceptable quality product at competitive prices and lead-times. Develop supplier risk mitigiation plan to avoid single source scenario. Place purchase orders, expedite/de-expedite orders as necessary. Analyze and adjust inventory levels (safety stocks; excess/obsolete material). Accountable for maintaining good vendor relations with chosen sources. Have excellent material knowledge and understanding between the parties and reflect good business standards with the highest level of ethics in all dealings with vendors. Manage supply base (vendor performance, open order report, lead time reduction, etc.). Support Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) initiatives (i.e. transitioning material to preferred supplier, purchase only from suppliers on Approved Supplier List (ASL). Has the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and customers. Perform related duties and assignments that are consistent with knowledge and training.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE
At least 3-5 years experience in supply chain, purchasing, buying and planning in a manufacturing environment. Equal Opportunity Employer
