Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services essential to our operations. Your expertise in supply chain management systems and vendor relationships will ensure seamless procurement processes, optimal inventory levels, and cost-effective purchasing strategies. Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end procurement process by connecting with vendors, sourcing adequate materials, receiving materials, and maintaing vendor relationships. Source suppliers, evaluate vendor performance, and develop strong vendor relationships to secure quality materials at competitive prices. Negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery terms, and service agreements with vendors to maximize value. Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials while maintaining optimal inventory levels through inventory management and control practices. Analyze Excel data to identify cost-saving opportunities, forecast demand, and support production planning. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, logistics, accounting, and merchandising to streamline supply chain operations. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, pricing agreements, and supplier communications in compliance with company policies. Requirements Strong understanding of materials management, inventory control, procurement processes, and supply chain management principles. Demonstrated ability in vendor communication, negotiation skills, and vendor relationship management. Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel), data analysis, and procurement reporting tools for effective decision-making. Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning), logistics coordination, sourcing strategies, and vendor management. Knowledge of purchasing management systems that are technically supported within an organization's infrastructure. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple supplier accounts and purchase cycles.
