Job Summary The Purchasing Agent plays a key role in our fast-paced job ship manufacturing environment and has strong attention to detail. Working with our production operations as well as outsourcing manufacturing partners, you will be focused on efficiently and effectively moving materials and components through our fabrication processes. Primary Responsibilities Place purchase orders with suppliers for materials and subcontracted outsourced labor. Monitor all open POs, follow up on past due orders and update ERP system as required. Process MRO (expense) requisitions and place purchase orders with suppliers. Work with the receiving team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and manage any back-ordered or missing products with suppliers. Work directly with suppliers on quotations to obtain the best cost and delivery. Assist the Production Manager with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis. Work with suppliers to determine and execute disposition for out of spec purchased complete and outsourced materials/parts. Execute with Quality Control and Receiving as appropriate. Working knowledge of OEM Manufacturing companies inventory programs - VMI, Kanban, etc.
Skills and Qualifications:
Product Knowledge, Quality Focus, Problem Solving, Market Knowledge, Documentation Skills, Listening, Phone Skills, Resolving Conflict, Analyzing Information , Multi-tasking College degree preferred 2-3 years' experience in similar role Comprehensive understanding of MS Office, MS Excel, MS Word Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Epicor Ability to work well in a team environment Strong sense of professionalism and discretion
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
