Job Description Carrier Sourcing Representative - Responsible for sourcing top-capacity partners, negotiating effectively, and ensuring smooth, reliable freight movement. If you excel at building relationships, closing deals, negotiating, and managing carriers, this role is built for you. Responsibilities Develop an overall business strategy to build a pipeline of qualified partner carriers Source a network of carriers based on Account Management needs, with the expectation of developing contracted capacity Continually review your pipeline's capacity to identify opportunities for growth. Provide and negotiate freight rates with carriers to improve margins. Manage the carrier pipeline to ensure accurate levels of service Utilize data-driven resources to make informed decisions Collaborate internally with teams on pricing strategies and account implementation plans Resolve transportation problems with urgency and professionalism Actively procure new carriers based on volume and lane density Maintain strong market knowledge of shipping lanes, geography, and seasonality Meet and exceed KPIs and goals as set by department leadership Review and verify your TMS profile for data integrity for both existing and new carriers Support other departments as necessary, utilizing your carrier pipeline Skills Those who can balance speed with profitability Communicators who manage operations with accuracy and efficiency Negotiators who close deals with urgency and professionalism Self-starters who own outcomes, not just tasks Competitive mentality, with a strong desire to perform at your highest level every day. Qualifications Experience and Education Requirements 3+ years of Carrier Sourcing / Carrier Procurement experience in a Freight Brokerage (REQUIRED) Strong negotiation skills with urgency, creativity, and confidence Ability to build trust quickly with carriers and solve problems decisively Excellent communication — written & verbal Organized, detail-focused, and strong under pressure Professional, ethical, and customer-minded every time Additional Information Benefits Competitive base-salary + uncapped commission On-site training and career development with a fast track to promotion Insurance benefits including: Health, vision, dental, life, and disability Paid holidays and paid time off after 90 days
