We are America's only ironing board manufacturer, committed to quality, efficiency, and innovation in production. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Materials Buyer with strong expertise in steel purchasing and manufacturing supply chains.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Materials Buyer to manage the sourcing and procurement of steel and other key raw materials for our production operations. The ideal candidate has direct experience purchasing steel, plastics and other raw material domestically and abroad and understands market pricing dynamics, and is familiar with manufacturing environments—preferably in consumer goods or metal-based products.

Key Responsibilities:

Source, negotiate, and purchase steel (tubing, wire, CR, and etc.) and related materials Develop and maintain relationships with steel suppliers and mills Monitor steel market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply risks Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules Manage inventory levels and coordinate with production and planning teams Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to optimize cost and quality Evaluate supplier performance and identify new sourcing opportunities Work closely with operations to forecast material needs

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in materials purchasing, with a strong focus on steel procurement Experience in manufacturing (metal fabrication or similar industry preferred) Strong understanding of steel grades, specifications, and supply chain dynamics Proven negotiation skills and cost-saving track record Ability to analyze market trends and make strategic purchasing decisions Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Experience:

Background in consumer goods or durable goods manufacturing Existing network of steel suppliers or mills Experience working with overseas suppliers (if applicable)
