Greenwood is currently hiring an experienced Purchasing Coordinator based out of our Worcester, MA office. The Purchasing Coordinator will play a key role in supporting operations and project teams by procuring materials, equipment, and services necessary for the successful execution of commercial construction projects. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities The Purchasing Coordinator's responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Source and procure materials, equipment, tools, and services in support of project and operational needs. Solicit and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery schedules. Create, process, and track purchase orders through completion. Coordinate material deliveries to project sites and company facilities. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors. Monitor order status, resolve delivery issues, and communicate any delays to project stakeholders. Verify pricing, quantities, and specifications against project requirements and contracts. Assist with inventory monitoring and replenishment planning. Review and reconcile purchasing documentation, invoices, and receiving records. Work closely with Project Managers, Operations, and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely procurement activities. Maintain purchasing records, vendor databases, and procurement reports. Support cost-control initiatives by identifying cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing options. Assist in negotiating pricing agreements and favorable terms with vendors. Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures. Qualifications 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or construction administration experience. Experience in commercial construction, roofing, waterproofing, architectural metals, masonry, or a related industry preferred. Strong understanding of purchasing and procurement processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience with ERP, accounting, or construction management software preferred. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience purchasing construction materials and coordinating job site deliveries. Knowledge of building envelopes, roofing materials, waterproofing products, architectural metals, or masonry products. Familiarity with Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar software platforms. Associate or bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
