About this Role - Purchasing Agent We are looking for a talented Purchasing Agent that has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for coordinating the activities involved with the pricing of estimates and the purchasing of materials in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. What You'll Do Partner with the estimating department to develop pricing for project estimates Collaborate with project management to prepare submittal documents for material and equipment approval Purchase materials that meet project specifications, schedules, and budget requirements Negotiate with vendors on pricing, availability, and delivery schedules Track and manage actual material costs against estimated budgets Expedite material shipments to keep construction schedules on track Maintain and update estimating software and procurement records Partner with Accounts Payable to verify invoice accuracy Coordinate the return of excess or surplus materials What You'll Bring 3-5 years of purchasing experience in electrical utility, industrial/commercial materials, or equivalent related experience Strong ability to work independently and meet deadlines Working knowledge of current purchasing practices and systems Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills Strong communication, organizational, presentation, and analytical skills Proven ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationships Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and JD Edwards Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain preferred What You'll Get 401(k) with company match (Traditional & Roth) Paid Holidays and PTO Medical, Dental, and Vision Flexible Spending Accounts Health Savings Account Voluntary Benefits Accident Insurance Hospital Indemnity Insurance Critical Illness Insurance LifeLock Identity Theft Protection Employee Discounts Short-Term & Long-Term Disability
