Job description: Position Summary This role is responsible for managing the tool crib and MRO inventory while supporting Engineering, Maintenance, and Production with tooling, indirect materials, and procurement needs. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of machine tooling applications and experience supporting inventory control, supplier coordination, sourcing, and MRO purchasing activities. Responsibilities Inventory Management
  • Conduct regular inventory audits (including cycle counts) to ensure accurate stock levels and identify discrepancies, and monitor usage trends to insure proper min/max levels.
  • Maintain appropriate tool and MRO inventory levels by working with suppliers to ensure adequate stock, monitoring usage trends, and helping prevent production downtime due to tool availability issues.
  • Receive, store, organize, and manage all tools and equipment in the tool crib.
  • Issue tools and equipment to employees and contractors, maintaining accurate records of tool transactions.
  • Process orders for new tools and materials, working with vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery. Tool Maintenance and Inspection
  • Inspect tools for damage, wear, or defects, performing necessary repairs and adjustments.
  • Ensure tools are properly calibrated and in safe working condition.
  • Manage re-sharpening programs and prepare tooling for repair or disposal. Support and Collaboration
  • Meet regularly with suppliers and vendors to support delivery performance, inventory availability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to support tooling, MRO, and equipment needs.
  • Assist employees with tool usage questions, troubleshooting needs, and proper handling practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with established safety protocols. Record Keeping and Administration
  • Maintain accurate records of tool usage, inventory, and repairs, often using inventory management software.
  • Prepare requisitions and records for tool repair, replacement, or disposal.
  • Prepare requisitions for indirect materials, including cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment, lubricants, oils, and related MRO items.
  • Handle shipping and receiving of tools and materials.
  • Distribute incoming deliveries, including UPS, FedEx, Amazon, and other supplier shipments.
  • Coordinate support for vending machine inventory and supplier service needs. Skills and Qualifications Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, tool crib, inventory, MRO, or related support role.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, basic computer skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Basic understanding of machine tooling applications and inventory control.
  • Procurement, sourcing, vendor coordination, or maintenance-related MRO support experience.
  • Must have a cell phone and be available to provide phone support during evenings and weekends as needed. Preferred Qualifications
  • Plex UX experience, inventory management software experience, and familiarity with safety requirements.
Physical Demands This role may require standing, walking, and using hands to handle tools, as well as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may also be necessary.
