Fully On-Site at the Ostego, MI location Pay Rate (Firm) +

Benefits Hourly:

$31.25 + Benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, 401k, Weekly Pay)

Hours:

Flexible, someone must work an 8 hour day and needs to start at 8am or before. Must work until at least 3:30pm every day. Monday through Friday. Little to no over time.

Contract:

6 month contract - could go longer or direct if they get approval to hire FTE

•In order to be considered for permanent conversion, you must have a Bachelor's degree or within 6 months of completion, otherwise the role will be strictly a contract role. Primary Responsibility The Material Purchasing Assistant will support the day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure continuity of material supply from approved suppliers. This role is tactical in nature and is intended to support purchase order execution, supplier follow-up, order maintenance, and communication related to existing supply requirements. Essential Functions Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders to approved suppliers based on system demand, requisitions, or planner direction. Confirm supplier receipt of purchase orders and obtain order acknowledgements. Follow up with suppliers on open purchase orders, delivery dates, past-due items, and order status. Update purchase order dates, quantities, pricing, and delivery information in the ERP system as directed and within established procedures. Expedite materials as needed to support production, service, or inventory requirements. Communicate material availability, delivery risks, and supplier responses to planning, operations, customer service, or purchasing leadership. Assist with resolving routine invoice discrepancies related to purchase orders, receipts, pricing, or quantities. Coordinate with receiving, accounts payable, planning, and suppliers to resolve transactional issues. Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier communications, and order documentation. Support shortage reviews, open order reports, and other standard purchasing follow-up activities. Escalate supplier performance issues, pricing concerns, supply constraints, or contractual matters to the appropriate full-time buyer, commodity manager, or purchasing leader. This role is tactical in nature and is intended to support purchase order execution, supplier follow-up, order maintenance, and communication related to existing supply requirements. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr.
