Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview The Costing Analyst oversees development and management of product costs: material cost, conversion cost, manufacturing equipment requirements, labor requirements, cycle times, tooling and capital requirements for new business or changes to current business. Core Responsibilities Develop quotations that will be submitted to OEM customers through business units Develop risks/opportunities with each quote Review complex bill of materials for reasonableness Review manufacturing assumptions for reasonableness Effectively communicate cost data to the organization Develop rates for manufacturing plants Analyze cost variance and financial metrics Support purchasing negotiate prices with suppliers as required and provide cost targets for purchased components Provide product cost reduction estimates as required Actively contribute to departmental initiatives/process improvements to enhance the overall department's effectiveness Work on special projects, as needed Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business or Operations or Engineering 1-3 years' experience in Finance or Operations or Manufacturing or Engineering or Purchasing in the Automotive Industry Strong computer skills, i.e., Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint Self-motivated and eager to learn Interest in understanding both the financial and technical side of operations and manufacturing Demonstrated experience as a value-added team member Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and strong attention to detail Ability to work cross-functionally across the organization Occasional travel required Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Business Administration Intern experience within the Automotive Industry Foreign language skills
