Job Description

We anticipate the need for one or more Material & Procurement Specialist(s) at our Sherco Plant in Becker, MN. The starting rate of pay for this position is $27.50 hourly. This position will be posted for 10 Working Days from August 20, 2026, to September 2, 2026. Summary Perform activities in all areas of materials handling and control, which include, but not limited to ordering, receiving, packaging, storing, cycle counting, maintenance and issuing materials for power plant operation and maintenance. Must be willing to work night shift and/or extended hours, including alternate shifts to meet plant and customer requirements. This position will require travel to support other locations as needed, less than 10%. Minimum Requirements 1. High school diploma or GED. 2. Training or previous experience in materials logistics or one year of post-secondary education. 3. Strong mechanical aptitude. 4. Good interpersonal and communication skills. 5. Lift truck certification is desired. 6. PC literate desired. Special Requirements 1. Must have a valid driver's license. 2. Must be able to travel to multiple locations. 3. Must be able to work overtime as required. 4. Actively participate in hands-on training, required classroom training and computer interactive training programs, as directed by supply chain management. 5. Applicant is required to successfully pass the Xcel Energy screening requirements, which include a drug test and security clearance. 6. Other exams, which are required by federal regulations, such as OSHA and DOT, may be performed.
