The Buyer role is responsible for the purchasing of new and existing parts based on demand in company ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, including assisting in supplier selection, supplier evaluation, and providing recommendations on changes in both process and partners to Supply Chain Manager. This role works extensively in an ERP environment and the ability to operate in such an environment in crucial. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Procures parts from domestic and international suppliers based on ERP-driven demand, lead times, history, product life cycle Requests and updates supplier pricing, lead time, terms, and schedules to ensure optimal cost and availability Expedites or de-expedites orders to align with demand fluctuations Negotiates pricing, terms, and schedule changes with suppliers Communicate changes with suppliers to assure part delivery and availability Plans purchases to optimize inventory levels while considering warehouse space, shelf-life, and total landed costs Supports new product development with procurement activities including source selection and participation in interdepartmental meetings Evaluates and onboards alternate suppliers for existing products Conducts supplier visits, documents transactions, and resolves issues Tracks incoming orders using freight forwarder software Maintains supplier scorecards and provides quarterly reports to suppliers and management Records and maintains order documentation for compliance and supplier evaluation Other duties as assigned including training others on known processesWhat You Will Bring:
Required:
Two years of experience in domestic and international purchasing in an ERP/MRP environment Strong written and verbal communication skills, including with non-native English speakers Experience working in ERP systems for procurement Ability to perform mathematical calculations (discounts, interest, proportions, percentages) Team-oriented mindset with cross-departmental collaboration skills and excellent problem-solving abilities Highly self-motivated with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Detail oriented and strong organizational skills for proper record retentionPreferred:
Five years of experience in domestic and international purchasing in an ERP/MRP environment ACSM or APICS Certification Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, logistics, or similar field Desire to learn and grow within the professionWhere and How You Will Work On-site Engagement and Collaboration:
