40 hours per week Position Overview We are seeking a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to join our Supply Chain team and support purchasing activities for our manufacturing operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working through puzzles, communicating with different departments and suppliers, and handling a workday where priorities can change. In this role, you will help ensure the manufacturing floor has the materials it needs by reviewing demand, issuing purchase orders, communicating with suppliers, monitoring pricing and availability, and resolving material-related issues. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable using computers and ERP systems, and able to communicate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Review material demand and issue purchase orders to approved suppliers Create and send purchase orders using an ERP system Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and deliveries Maintain accurate product, vendor, pricing, cost, and lead-time information Enter and update parts and vendors within the ERP system Monitor inventory needs and assist with stocking recommendations Identify potential material shortages or delays Work with Receiving to resolve issues involving incoming materials Communicate material delays, defects, and availability issues to Production and other internal teams Coordinate with Scheduling regarding material deliveries and production requirements Work with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies and pricing issues Research product pricing and availability Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers Track supplier performance and assist with resolving supplier-related issues Assist with defective product documentation and returns Perform additional purchasing and supply chain responsibilities as needed Qualifications & Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing work environment Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Experience working with ERP systems Ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal departments Bachelor's degree in operations management, engineering, business administration, or a related field OR 6+ years of related experience and/or training Experience with ERP system setup and use preferred Electronics industry experience preferred Experience with cable, harness, or electromechanical assemblies is a plus Ability to occasionally travel to supplier or customer locations as needed Work Environment This position is primarily office-based but may involve time in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
