Job Description
Procurement Specialist - Aerospace & Defense Starkville, MS | In-Person | $80,000 - $90,000 /yr | Full-Time A well established and growing aerospace and defense manufacturer with a team that cares about their people is hiring a Senior Buyer to lead strategic sourcing and procurement for a highly regulated, high-specification supply chain.
What You'll Do:
Identify, assess, and qualify suppliers to ensure quality, compliance, and delivery reliability Develop sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and risk across materials, components, sub-assemblies, and design-to-spec items Negotiate contracts and terms that secure favorable cost, quality, and lead-time outcomes Manage end-to-end procurement including RFQs, PO generation, and order tracking Optimize inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing excess and obsolescence Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production to keep material flowing on time Ensure procurement activities comply with ITAR, DFARS, FAR, and other industry regulations Manage import/export compliance in coordination with logistics teams Mentor junior buyers and drive continuous improvement across the purchasing functionWhat You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field, Master's a plus 5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in aerospace or defense Strong working knowledge of ITAR, DFARS, and FAR Proven negotiation and contract management skills with regulated or high-spec suppliers Experience with ERP/MRP systems, SAP or Oracle preferred APICS or ISM certification (CPSM or CPIM) highly desirableWhat's In It For You:
