#INDHB Buyer/Purchasing 2 Clayton, NC 27527 36 months (possibility of extension) Job Description The main function of a procurement specialist (buyer, supplier development, procurement execution) is to purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies or services necessary for the operation of an establishment. A typical procurement specialist is responsible for buying goods and services for use by their company or organization. Responsibilities:
Review and potentially optimize suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability and other relevant factors. Approve purchases of the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts. Approve purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services. Instruct staff on how to resolve problems related to undelivered goods. Instruct staff on methods of negotiation, renegotiation and administration of contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives. Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action. Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes. Position's Contributions to
Work Group:
  • Purchase and establishing tooling, equipment, tools, parts, supplies or services necessary for the operation of an establishment.
Responsible for buying goods and services for use by their company or organization. This role is responsible and accountable for the analysis and maintenance of purchasing and quality data including but not limited to; purchase orders, quotations, invoices, source catalogs, material rejection disposal reports, tooling records, supplier data and measurements. This role has responsibility for implementation of local or regional sourcing strategy, under the direction of their manager and experienced Procurement specialists. Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability and other relevant factors. Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and at the correct amounts. Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services. Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
