As the Buyer - Non‑Perishable Groceries , you'll manage dry grocery purchasing — canned goods, shelf‑stable staples, baking ingredients, condiments, snacks, and more — ensuring availability, quality, and competitive pricing across a high‑volume distribution network. This is a role where your decisions directly shape customer satisfaction, margin performance, and supplier strategy. Compensation & Benefits Up to $100,000 total compensation in your first year (salary + bonus) Top‑tier Fortune 500 benefits , including: Medical, dental, vision Excellent matching 401(k) Robust insurance + wellness programs Additional employee perks Real career progression across a national network Relocation assistance What You'll Do Purchase dry grocery items from national and regional suppliers Track market trends, pricing shifts, and commodity movement Negotiate pricing, freight, terms, and delivery schedules Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing shrink and aging Evaluate suppliers, pack sizes, and product alternatives Partner with category management on mix, promotions, and private label Build strong supplier relationships and resolve quality or fill‑rate issues Support sales, operations, and warehouse teams on product needs and handling Communicate market updates and supply disruptions Use ERP/procurement systems to manage orders, pricing, and inventory Analyze data and prepare reports on cost trends and category performance What You Bring High School Diploma required; Associate/Bachelor's preferred 2+ years of purchasing experience in dry grocery, non-perishables, or center store Strong understanding of specs, supplier dynamics, and market behavior Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office + ERP systems Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment Why This Role Matters This isn't just buying — it's strategic stewardship of products customers rely on every day.
