Job Description

Overview Twin City Knitting ("TCK") is the leading and largest manufacturer of domestically produced athletic socks in the United States. As we continue to grow across both our traditional and Ecommerce business, we're looking for great people who are curious, motivated, willing to learn, and excited to make an impact. Position Overview We're looking for a Raw Materials Planning & Sourcing Coordinator to join our team in Conover, NC. This role plays an important part in making sure our production teams have the materials they need, when they need them. You'll work with raw materials including yarn, bags, labels, packaging, and other production supplies while helping us forecast needs, manage inventory, source materials, and make smart purchasing decisions. You'll work closely with Purchasing, Production, Sales, Product Development, and leadership to understand what's coming, what we have on hand, and what we'll need next. You'll also partner with our Purchaser to turn those plans into action. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, asking questions, and finding better ways to do things. You don't need to know everything on day one — we're looking for someone who is eager to learn, comfortable taking ownership, and excited to grow with the role.
What You'll Do Raw Material Forecasting:
Forecast raw material needs based on production plans, sales forecasts, historical usage, upcoming projects, lead times, and current inventory.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels, identify potential shortages or excess inventory, and help establish appropriate inventory targets.
Purchase Recommendations:
Analyze inventory and upcoming needs to recommend what materials should be purchased, how much we need, and when we need them.
Project Planning:
Plan material requirements for new products, customer programs, seasonal initiatives, and other upcoming projects.
Strategic Sourcing:
Help source new yarns, bags, labels, packaging, and other materials while identifying potential new suppliers and alternative sources.
Supplier Management:
Build and maintain supplier relationships while monitoring lead times, pricing, quality, service, and overall performance.
Cost Analysis:
Review supplier pricing and market alternatives to identify opportunities for cost savings and ensure competitive pricing.
Purchasing Coordination:
Work closely with the Purchaser to communicate purchasing recommendations, review open purchase orders, and address potential supply issues.
Reporting:
Develop and maintain reporting related to inventory, future material requirements, purchase recommendations, supplier performance, and material costs.
Process Improvement:
Look for opportunities to improve forecasting, inventory management, sourcing, and purchasing processes through better use of data, technology, and processes. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Operations, Analytics, or a related field. 0-3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Inventory Planning, Sourcing, or a related field. Experience with ERP, inventory management, or purchasing systems is a plus. Someone who works well with others and is comfortable communicating with both suppliers and internal teams. An interest in improving processes and finding more efficient ways to work. Manufacturing, textile, apparel, or raw material experience is helpful, but not required. Why TCK? You'll have the opportunity to learn, take ownership, and make a real impact on how we plan and manage materials as TCK continues to grow.
