Buyer Diversified Heat Transfer Inc - 4.0 Towaco, NJ Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $85,000 a year 19 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Position overview: A Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies and/or equipment and utilizing standard purchasing methods. Duties include but are not limited to negotiating deals with suppliers, researching possible item selections and taking inventory of current products, as well as working with different departments to manage inventory through the use of production planning, forecasting, Kanban and visual signaling methods.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Orders materials and supplies for departments utilizing MRP system to analyze requirements for all inventory needs. Assist the Purchasing Manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis. Sources new vendors and negotiates pricing. Works with manufacturing and engineering to identify suppliers who are able to provide products that meet the company's quality standards and requirements. Monitors and updates all purchase orders to ensure that all pricing and delivery dates are correct. Monitors and tracks delivery and follows through when necessary. Prepares and maintains weekly spreadsheet listing all open orders and required delivery dates. Files and negotiates freight claims for damaged product and renegotiates freight invoices for shipments that were reclassified by freight carriers. Keeps management informed of price and delivery issues. Supports residential division to create reorder signals, cycle count, and manage overall inventory needs. Attends production meetings to assist with scheduling demands and provide materials feedback in meeting. Assists with customer communications related to scheduling and shipments related to material availability. Uses forecasting and ERP system to effectively maintain inventory levels.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years experience Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills. Detail oriented, organized, analytical and self-motivated. Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience working with an ERP system, Genius preferred. Excellent time management skills, with keen ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities. Strong customer service and negotiation skills. Computer literacy and Excell skills Ability to work well with others and be a strong team player. Manufacturing experience a plus.
