In this role, you will be responsible for the purchasing process across multiple departments. You will not only manage order accuracy and timeliness, but also take full ownership of on-site inventory levels. The ideal candidate will ensure that our departments have exactly what they need, exactly when they need it.
Essential Responsibilities:
Execute and track all purchase orders (POs) for multiple departments Review technical specifications, configurations, plans, options, etc., to ensure 100% accuracy before submission Proactively monitor shipping timelines and communicate potential delays to internal teams Serve as the main point of contact for suppliers; negotiate pricing where applicable and resolve discrepancies regarding backorders or damaged goods Conduct regular physical counts of stocked items for multiple departments Maintain min/max levels for high-turnover items to prevent stockouts while minimizing excess overhead Provide detailed information for what teams will be receiving, and confirm that what is received is what was ordered Assist with inventory layout Compile and send monthly forecasts to key partners Lead and participate in construction meetings, operations meetings, etc. Monitor shop supplies/resources and order as necessary Attend startup, safety, routine, and other meetings as required Manages personal email, phone calls, and text messages; responding in a professional, timely manner with other employees and customers
Qualifications:
2-4 years in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred Proficiency in Excel Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Ability to hold vendors accountable to deadlines and quality standards Willingness to learn Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and able to lift/move inventory items as needed for counting and organizing
