Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical, resourceful, and persistent Procurement Specialist to support our purchasing and supply chain activities. This role will obtain and evaluate supplier quotes, process purchase orders, monitor open orders, analyze pricing and lead times, and proactively resolve purchasing and supplier issues. The ideal candidate is more than a PO processor. We are looking for someone who asks questions, notices when something doesn't make sense, and has the tenacity to pursue issues until they are resolved. We are looking for someone with an analyst's mindset and a buyer's sense of urgency—someone who is curious, detail-oriented, persistent, and comfortable asking "Why?" when something doesn't make sense. The right person will take ownership, dig into problems, find answers, and follow through until the job is done.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations based on price, lead time, availability, terms, and other factors.
  • Create and maintain accurate purchase orders.
  • Monitor open POs and aggressively follow up on late quotes, acknowledgments, and deliveries.
  • Analyze pricing and identify discrepancies, unusual increases, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Investigate purchasing, pricing, quantity, and delivery issues through resolution.
  • Identify alternative suppliers or sourcing options when needed.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information.
  • Communicate supply risks and potential problems early.
  • Work closely with internal teams to understand requirements and resolve issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, cost, lead time, and supplier performance.
