Job Description

Position Summary:
To purchase pharmaceuticals as they relate to the hospital, including pharmaceutical supplies. Manage all aspects of drug purchasing including contracting, inventory, cost savings and compliance.
Education, License & Cert:
The PDCS requires an Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field or two years equivalent experience.
Experience:
A PDCS is required to have a minimum of two years previous experience in purchasing, receiving, or accounting in pharmacy, hospital or other healthcare business setting.
Essential Functions:
Processes all purchase orders for assigned areas and coordinates purchase of standardized drugs. Manages the physical inventory for the hospital Maintains contract compliance Responsible for oversight of the buyers office and all associated functions. Performs all financial duties that are relevant to drug purchasing Participates in 340
B Program Other Duties:
Maintains a close working relationship with participating GPO . Establishes and maintains the proper professional and ethical relationships with all sales representatives Participates in Quality Improvement process including: Identifying areas in which quality improvement process can be applied. Collecting and organizing quality measurement data. Participating on Quality Improvement Teams. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains appropriate confidentiality. Pay Range $20.79 - $32.45/hour, DOE #LI-MC1
