The Senior Buyer will be responsible for aligning material flow with actual customer demand. Standard work for this role includes using
SAGE ERP
system, managing strategic supplier relationships, maximizing inventory turns and evaluating supplier performance for quality, delivery and cost.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Regular tasks performed and outcomes to be accomplished on the job. Other duties may be assigned. Negotiate blanket purchase orders and release deliveries per material usage rates. Use discrete purchase orders to meet demand per material usage rates. Build mutually beneficial relationships with assigned suppliers. Provide demand forecasts to assigned suppliers on a regularly defined basis. Partner closely with production teams to monitor consumption signals and adjust supplier schedules based on real-time demand. Resolve purchasing issues with vendors related to delivery, quality, scrap, and pricing issues Function in a measured, professional manner with focus on resolution of departmental requirements as needed Pursue cost savings methodology mindset Administer the procurement process with a sense of urgency, including RFQ's, order placement, confirmations, expediting and invoicing resolutions as required Engage with Dynabrade associates on all levels in a professional and collaborative manner to resolve any vendor issues and inquiries Conduct due diligence in exploring potential new vendors in pursuit of expanded supply base competencies Review vendor open purchase orders in a disciplined manner to ensure firm delivery and facilitate proper action as needed Challenge vendor with inquiries for potential cost savings Visit vendor facilities as required Demonstrated ability to work effectively, efficiently, and collaboratively under pressure in a professional manner Manage assigned suppliers for acceptable achievement of purchasing metrics (on-time delivery, cost & quality) Proactively anticipate purchasing challenges related to required delivery and take appropriate action Support fellow purchasing department members as required

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 4 yr. degree in Operations, Supply Chain or related field, desired Experience in cost reduction initiative Minimum of 5 years of successful procurement experience in manufacturing environment 5 years' experience working with ERP software in a manufacturing environment Experience in working with suppliers in a global environment
