P Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

Responsible for the purchase of material and services including price, quality, specifications, and delivery to meet manufacturing schedules. Negotiates pricing, quality, and delivery criteria for required materials in connection with the placement of purchase orders. Analyzes vendor criteria to determine the proper vendor to select. Processes purchase requisitions for materials required for the production lines. Investigates Material Variance Reports and coordinates corrective action between supplier and Quality and Engineering departments. Coordinates vendor questions or problems with Engineering, Quality, Sales, and Accounting or other departments. Meets with planners to discuss delivery schedules and informs them when supplier scheduled deliveries do not support requirement dates. Manages component deliveries to drive suppliers to perform as promised in regard to quality and on-time deliveries. Prepares and maintains departmental reports relative to cost reduction, new orders, change orders, total dollars placed, and updating of projects and programs. Develops small disadvantaged suppliers and attains purchasing objectives on purchases compliant with Military or Government contracts.

Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR). 3-6 years of experience in purchasing or materials buyer in a manufacturing environment. Experience with MRP. Experience with CPAM is a plus. Basic purchasing skills including negotiations. Supplier evaluation experience. Cost reduction experience. Standard purchasing systems and procedures experience. Blueprint reading experience. College degree is preferred in Supply Chain Management or a related field, or comparable experience.
