Job Description

Senior Tactical Buyer Base Salary:
$102,000 + Target Earnings Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Tactical Buyer to manage purchase order execution, supplier follow-up, expediting, shortage mitigation, and purchasing system accuracy for materials supporting liquid-cooling manufacturing and distribution. This role helps protect production continuity and customer delivery by ensuring materials, components, packaging, and services arrive on time and meet quantity and quality requirements. The Buyer works closely with Planning, Operations, Quality, Sourcing, and suppliers. Key Responsibilities Manage purchase orders, supplier confirmations, delivery follow-up, expedites, and shortage recovery based on MRP and site priorities. Monitor open orders, past-due deliveries, promise dates, supplier performance, and material risks. Resolve PO discrepancies, invoice and receiving issues, quantity changes, and delivery changes. Partner cross-functionally to mitigate production shortages and customer delivery risks. Maintain accurate purchasing data, lead times, supplier commitments, and recovery actions in ERP/MRP systems. Escalate supplier performance, capacity, quality, packaging, and transportation issues. Support new product launches and transfers by tracking supplier readiness, samples, packaging, documentation, and ramp-up requirements. Coordinate with Quality and Incoming Inspection on supplier nonconformances and required documentation. Support alternate sourcing, supplier changes, and engineering changes by coordinating open orders and transition plans. Communicate material risks in production, shortage, and customer recovery meetings. Support inventory health by reviewing excess/obsolete inventory, MOQs, order multiples, safety stock, and demand changes. Follow procurement policies, approval requirements, ethical sourcing standards, and documentation practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Experience in purchasing, material planning, supplier management, production control, or manufacturing support preferred. Experience with ERP/MRP purchasing transactions, open-order management, supplier communication, and shortage mitigation. Strong follow-up, negotiation, analytical, data accuracy, and cross-functional communication skills. Working knowledge of purchase order management, supplier confirmations, expediting, delivery follow-up, and shortage recovery. Ability to effectively use ERP/MRP systems and maintain accurate purchasing data. #IND1
