Job Description
The Sourcing Intern will support the Global/Regional Sourcing function by assisting with supplier data management, spend analysis, sourcing initiatives, and process improvement activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to strategic sourcing and procurement operations within a global organization, offering the opportunity to build analytical, communication, and business skills while contributing to real-world sourcing projects. Responsibilities Support the Sourcing team with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to supplier spend, cost savings, and sourcing initiatives Assist in maintaining supplier records, contracts, and sourcing documentation Participate in supplier research, benchmarking, and market analysis Support sourcing projects, RFQs/RFPs, and cost comparison activities as directed Collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g., Operations, Finance, Quality) to gather information and support sourcing objectives Assist with process improvement initiatives and documentation of standard work Prepare presentations and summary materials for internal stakeholders Support planning and coordination for the annual Supplier Summit, including assisting with logistics, supplier communications, agenda materials, etc. Other duties as assigned Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Interest in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or operations Prior internship or coursework related to supply chain or business analytics preferred Avient integrates EHS&S into all aspects of our operations. Each position at Avient is responsible for complying with all applicable EHS&S requirements. Additionally, employees and management are responsible for reporting all EHS&S incidents immediately to ensure we keep EHS&S a priority within the organization. Physical Demands Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to operate a computer and other standard office equipment Occasional lifting of materials up to 10 pounds Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supports the department with all necessary administrative or clerical work.
