Job Description
Job Description A major client of Insight Global is seeking a strategic and commercially minded Senior Sourcing Strategist to help elevate the maturity and impact of its procurement organization. This individual will move beyond traditional, transactional buying and serve as a consultative partner to business stakeholders across corporate services categories. The Senior Sourcing Strategist will create and execute category strategies, lead complex RFPs, negotiate commercial and contractual terms, manage strategic suppliers, and identify cost, service, and risk-optimization opportunities. The role will primarily support indirect spend categories such as HR, Marketing, Professional Services, Finance and Banking, and Legal Services. Technology procurement experience is welcome but is not the central focus of the position. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sourcing professional who enjoys building strategies where limited procurement infrastructure currently exists. The ideal candidate can independently review contracts and statements of work, identify unfavorable terms, conduct initial negotiations, and engage Legal as a strategic partner rather than relying on Legal to lead all commercial discussions. The position requires a tactful, influential approach. Business stakeholders currently own many supplier relationships, so success will depend on the ability to introduce procurement discipline without damaging established partnerships. Responsibilities Develop and implement category strategies that maximize value, control costs, improve service, and mitigate supplier and contractual risk. Partner with business leaders to evaluate current spend, supplier performance, market conditions, risks, and sourcing opportunities. Establish new category strategies in areas where formal sourcing plans may not currently exist. Lead end-to-end RFx initiatives, including RFIs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, recommendations, and awards. Translate business requirements into sourcing strategies that support broader operational and financial objectives. Lead negotiations involving pricing, service levels, deliverables, liability, renewal provisions, termination rights, and other business and contractual terms. Review master service agreements and identify potentially unfavorable redlines before escalating appropriate issues to Legal. Review statements of work for scope clarity, deliverables, pricing, responsibilities, acceptance criteria, timelines, and risk. Improve contract hygiene and ensure agreements, amendments, renewals, and SOWs receive appropriate procurement oversight. Analyze spend, supplier performance, industry trends, and internal requirements to identify savings, consolidation, service-improvement, and risk-reduction opportunities. Present sourcing recommendations, business cases, risks, and potential opportunities to business stakeholders and leadership. Manage strategic supplier relationships while respecting the relationships already held by business stakeholders. Influence supplier performance, resource allocation, commercial decisions, and service delivery. Act as a procurement subject-matter expert and trusted adviser to internal business partners. Help strengthen procurement processes, stakeholder adoption, reporting, and sourcing technology. Maintain sourcing documentation and support compliance with procurement policies and processes. We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to HR@insightglobal.com.
