Summary A Purchasing Specialist will assist in fulfilling the Company's vision of being the area's premier employer in the heavy metal fabrication industry. The Purchasing Specialist should embrace the Company's mission, vision, and core values and implement them daily with plant personnel. The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for the procurement of goods, materials, and services to ensure the plant's operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply.
Responsibilities Purchasing:
Manage the purchasing process for the entire company, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management. Develop, evaluate, and manage relationships with key vendors, ensuring high standards of quality and service. Coordinate with Operations to ensure appropriate raw material is in stock. Analyze contracts and match details to order forms for accuracy. Communicate with internal teams to resolve order discrepancies. Monitor market trends and apply best practices to improve purchasing processes and reduce costs. Work closely with the production team/sales team/finance team to forecast demand and ensure timely procurement of materials. Conduct regular supplier evaluations to assess performance and compliance with company standards. Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes Resolve any supply issues, discrepancies, or grievances that may arise. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data. Follow up on overdue or delayed orders with suppliers. Assists in coordinating year-end audits.
