Full-Time Summary:
This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services required for production while aligning purchasing decisions with budgetary guidelines and financial controls. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement that supports manufacturing goals.
Responsibilities:
Analyze purchasing needs and prepare purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services in alignment with budget forecasts and inventory goals. Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability; maintain strong vendor relationships. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to achieve optimal cost savings and risk mitigation. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or invoicing discrepancies. Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate cost accounting, budget tracking, and reporting of procurement activities. Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies. Maintain up-to-date procurement records, including purchase orders, receipts, invoices, and vendor agreements. Support inventory management and forecasting efforts in coordination with Supply Chain and Production teams. Assist in the development of cost-reduction strategies and continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field. 3+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment. Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), and procurement software. Financial acumen with the ability to assess cost structures, analyze budgets, and interpret financial reports. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Knowledge of sourcing regulations, contract management, and quality assurance principles. Must submit to pre-employment background, drug, and alcohol screening.
