Job Description

Overview:

In your role as Buyer you are focused on exercising professional judgement, attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills because you know that the ultimate goal is to make life better for our patients.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for executing a variety of roles within the procure-to-pay cycle for all commodity, capital and service categories employing established department protocols. Work is generally preformed independently requiring professional judgement, attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. The typical duties include, but are not limited to: Customer liaison duties ensuring supply and service requests are sourced within system standards utilizing preferred products and suppliers. Order placement and expediting. Sourcing and purchase of minor equipment and capital project requests. Supplier evaluations, invoice resolution and problem solving. Identifying cost reduction opportunities. Continuous participation in purchasing strategies that advocate Lean Management and standard work protocols.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required in a related field, such as business administration, supply chain logistics, purchasing OR equivalent experience (Legacy Health employees only).
CMRP, CPSM
certification desired.
Experience:
Minimum of two years of purchasing or supply logistics experience preferably in a healthcare setting. Equivalent experience and education will be considered. Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) system preferred.
Knowledge/Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills that encourage effective working relationships. Demonstrated understanding of purchasing, materials management and account payable terms and principals. Solid customer-support aptitude utilizing effective verbal and written communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to use professional judgment, prioritize responsibilities/workload and meet deadlines, and apply chain-of-command communication protocols. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
Pay Range:
USD $29.89 - USD $42.74 /Hr. Our Commitment to
