Job Description

Conestoga Tile is seeking a part time Purchasing Agent! This position reports directly to the Director of Operations at our Hanover, PA location. Who are we looking for? You must be able to demonstrate that you are self-motivated, can work independently and take initiative and ownership for your area of responsibility. Your past experience will have given you first class organization skills, as well as strong communication skills, and exceptional Excel knowledge. You will enjoy working as part of a 2-person team, and your customer-focused attitude enables you to deal with people of all levels internally - as well as with external customers and vendors. In a high energy, fast paced and achievement orientation environment, you will need to be flexible and enjoy solving a variety of challenges and issues.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Process daily purchase orders for assigned vendors Review order acknowledgements for accuracy Monitor purchases and obtain tracking numbers Effectively communicate ETA's/backorders/delays to Customer Service Team Resolve issues with vendors such as short shipments, damages, missing product, etc. Determine most cost effective method of shipping orders Calculate freight as needed for special orders and/or direct ship orders File freight claims with vendors if necessary Perform weekly cycle counts and correct discrepancies Research/correct inventory issues daily Perform stock checks for materials Act as backup for Customer Service Representatives Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred but not required Working experience: Minimum of one year of Purchasing or related experience preferred
Required Skills:
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, proficiency in Excel is a must! Superior written and verbal communications skills, coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills Strong time management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines and high client expectations Basic accounting knowledge Ability to lift 50 lbs.
