Job Description
About the Role As a Purchaser, you will oversee all procurement and supply chain operations for the facility, maintaining a high level of precision in every task. You will cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with our vendors while managing all local buying requirements for the Lebanon location, including MRO, plant supplies, and essential services. Additionally, you will assist in tracking and reporting on key performance metrics to support organizational success. Required Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certification such as APICS or CPIM is highly desirable. At least five years of professional background in purchasing or material planning. Three or more years of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity is preferred. Proficiency in MRP/MPS systems, with a strong preference for SAP experience. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, are necessary. Experience utilizing SAP and electronic quality management systems. Comprehensive understanding of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 15378) and cGMP protocols. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in English. Comfortable working in both office environments and production areas with moderate noise levels. Adaptability to thrive within a fast-paced, matrix-style organizational structure. Availability to work standard weekday hours with the flexibility to support a 24/7 operational schedule. Core Responsibilities Oversee local procurement activities while ensuring strict adherence to corporate social responsibility and internal purchasing guidelines. Contribute to site-wide objectives by actively driving performance within your functional area. Provide essential local market data to support global purchasing strategies. Serve as the primary subject matter expert for local supplier markets and internal customer needs. Execute full-cycle local procurement, including sourcing, bidding, and ensuring timely delivery of all commodities. Verify that all purchase requisitions are complete and accurate before processing them with vendors. Function as the central point of contact for internal staff regarding procurement inquiries. Lead initiatives to improve value and efficiency, such as global sourcing and benchmarking projects. Ensure all purchase orders are processed accurately and in accordance with pricing and contract terms. Generate and analyze reports from SAP, SIEVO, or Celonis to track open orders, spending, and savings. Maintain the integrity of SAP purchasing data, including master records and pricing information. Engage with suppliers to resolve escalated issues and overcome operational obstacles. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure all departmental purchasing requirements are met. Manage overdue orders and expedite requests, ensuring all documentation is properly attached to SAP records. Oversee vendor-managed inventory programs for items like office, janitorial, and clean room supplies. Enhance procurement efficiency by utilizing diverse order types such as scheduling agreements and framework orders. Direct local cost-reduction initiatives to help the company achieve its financial goals. Resolve invoice discrepancies and manage GR/IR clearing processes. Develop strategies to address short-term supply chain fluctuations and critical quality or quantity issues. Evaluate and rate key supplier performance on a regular basis. Facilitate projects focused on the sustainable development of our supplier base. Organize and lead business review meetings with our supply partners. Assist other departments with supplier-related matters, including audits and new product launches. Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by promoting EHS directives. Ensure all activities remain compliant with ISO, cGMP, and company safety policies. Perform additional duties as required by the business.
