Requirements Bachelors degree or equivalent education and work experience. 4+ years
FAR/DFAR
regulated purchasing or subcontract experience. 4+ years purchasing or subcontracting experience with a U.S. Government military subcontractor possessing an approved procurement system (CPSR) Proficiency working with MS Office Suite (Excel- pivot tables, VLOOKUP; Word; PowerPoint) and MRP/ERP systems. Experience and successful results in negotiation skills and strategies. Must be a US citizen. S kills and Abilities May require US security clearance. Oracle database experience preferred CPIM or CPM certification preferred Experience managing electronic, electromechanical, and/or molded plastic component procurement. Thorough understanding of operations principles (JIT, MRP, TQC, and CRP) required. Mentorship and Training Summary The Senior Buyer (III) manages specialized and diversified procurement activities required to acquire materials and services for a highvolume defense manufacturing environment supporting U.S. Government, international government, and commercial customers. All procurement work is executed in compliance with
FAR/DFARS
requirements as well as established Corporate Policies and Procedures. This hybrid role requires a mix of onsite and remote work, with onsite days varying based on business needs and departmental priorities. Responsibilities Requires knowledge and application of FAR/DFAR and other federal acquisition regulations. Analyze and ensure compliance to prime contract and program contractual, legal, technical, and quality requirements. Provide leadership and training to junior level teammates. Understanding of development and production program acquisition requirements. Experience developing government proposals and BOEs of moderate complexity. Collaborate with internal stakeholders on acquisition strategy and development of the requirements (i.e. Statement of Work). Generates the solicitation/ request for proposal, analyzes proposals, source selection, negotiates (contract type, price, schedule, technical elements, terms & conditions), executes official purchase order or subcontract file and required documentation including close outs. Manages post purchase order placement for adherence to quality, reliability, and schedule requirements. Interfaces with departments such as Finance or Legal as required to negotiate legal documents and (i.e. NDA, Agreements, Purchase Orders, Terms & Conditions) in accordance with company procedures. Communication skills, verbally and in writing. Works directly with other functions such as contracts, program office, cross functional peers and leaders. Keeps updated on product technology/life cycles and supplier status. Monitors and responds to internal and cross functional trends that indicate early risks of supply chain disruptions. Work independently with minimal guidance with ability to analyze problems and report findings with recommended actions. Travel as required to meet with Suppliers and other appropriate representatives on supply chain matters.
