Job Summary We are seeking a entry level Cattle Buyer to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality cattle, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the efficient procurement of livestock to meet production needs. Your expertise will help uphold our commitment to quality and sustainability while optimizing supply chain operations. Duties Identify and evaluate cattle suppliers to secure the best quality livestock at competitive prices Attend cattle auctions Process paperwork related to cattle transactions Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to maximize value and maintain strong vendor relationships Coordinate logistics and inventory management for cattle shipments, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with safety standards Analyze data using spreadsheets and Excel to support sourcing decisions, pricing strategies, and inventory control Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize sourcing strategies and streamline purchasing workflows Maintain detailed records of vendor communications, contracts, purchase orders, and inventory levels Experience Proven experience in procurement or purchasing management within the livestock or agricultural industry 2 years working in agriculture or livestock Familiarly with livestock auctions Knowledge of cattle breeds and health indictors Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful vendor relationship management Knowledge of inventory management practices and logistics coordination for livestock procurement Ability to analyze data using Excel for procurement planning and cost analysis Excellent communication skills for vendor negotiations and internal collaborationJoin us in shaping a sustainable future by sourcing premium cattle that meet our high standards for quality and safety.
