Inventory Buyer Confidential Washington, DC Job Details Full-time $57,000 - $63,000 a year 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Paid time off Family leave Parental leave Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Supplier management NetSuite Analysis skills Supply chain management Forecasting Vendor relationship management Productivity software Excel data analysis Stakeholder management Full Job Description Inventory Buyer As an Inventory Buyer supporting multiple warehouse locations, you will own procurement responsibilities including purchasing, forecasting, inventory management, purchase order management, and vendor oversight for third-party service providers. You will provide procurement insights and partner with site leadership and sales teams to drive operational efficiencies and improvements. This is a remote role with minimal travel. Main Responsibilities In partnership with Procurement leadership, support procurement operations including: Purchasing of inventory products Inventory management Non-inventory flow and space planning Cycle counts Supplier management Procurement transactions and expediting Develop deep knowledge of inventory items and align across locations to drive best practices Manage key performance indicators including inventory shrink, out-of-stocks, inventory turns, new item setup, and gross margin Build relationships across sites and the broader network to ensure consistent execution of best practices Partner with internal stakeholders (including Finance and Operations) to understand budget targets and define savings, value, and category performance metrics Collaborate internally and with suppliers to develop innovative procurement solutions that support operational needs Establish and maintain supplier performance metrics to drive continuous improvement Basic Qualifications 1-2+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations Strong analytical and quantitative skills Experience managing supplier/vendor relationships Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs or equivalent functions) Experience analyzing process flows and identifying opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements Ability to work remotely with occasional travel as needed Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite or similar) Prior procurement experience Highly self-motivated with a strong customer-focused mindset Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments Strong ability to deliver a positive internal and external customer experience
