Procurement Intern
As part of the comprehensive internship program, interns will participate in events which help them build a strong network within the SJI community and with fellow interns. Interns enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work environment throughout this 11-week summer program. The Ignite Internship Program also offers participants mentorship, educational seminars, volunteer opportunities, and visibility within the organization. The Finance Intern will support the Financial Planning & Analysis team with financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, business analysis, and process improvement activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to corporate finance and an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a professional business environment while developing analytical, communication, and technical skills. The Procurement & Supply Chain Summer Intern will support the Procurement team with projects and daily activities while gaining hands-on experience in a corporate procurement and supply chain environment. The internship will provide exposure to sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and data analysis.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with procurement and supply chain projects and initiatives.
- Support sourcing and purchasing activities.
- Assist with supplier research and information gathering.
- Support the organization and maintenance of supplier, purchasing, and contract information.
- Assist with data analysis, reporting, and tracking.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with internal business partners.
- Support process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with other procurement and supply chain projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Background:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Interest in developing a career in procurement and/or supply chain management.
