Job Description
Purchasing Coordinator
- Direct-hire
- Beaverton, OR
- Hybrid (Wednesday and Friday mornings onsite)
- Lumber Trading What you should know: The Purchasing Coordinator plays a key role in keeping the purchasing and supply chain process running smoothly, partnering closely with sales teams, international suppliers, and freight forwarders.
A day in the life:
- Issue and revise purchase orders accurately using both MS Excel and MS Access databases.
- Monitor and track shipments from departure to delivery to ensure on-time arrival, communicating promptly and clearly between US sales teams, international suppliers, and freight forwarders.
- Perform diverse clerical and administrative tasks as needed to support daily operations, including creating monthly purchasing report, weekly open orders, and managing inspection reports and vendor certifications.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and demonstrate high flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Considered for expanded purchasing duties based on performance, including vendor relationship maintenance, handling inquiries between vendors and sales, monitoring inventory and sales projections, cost calculation and comparison, price negotiation, order confirmation, and troubleshooting purchase-related issues and quality claim negotiation. Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- Bachelor's in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- 1+ years in purchasing role is preferred but not required
- Intermediate MS Excel skills
