Job Description
REMCO, a Smart Care company, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our procurement team. In this vital role, you will drive the sourcing and purchasing of materials, products, and services essential to our operations. Your expertise will ensure the seamless flow of supply chain activities, optimize inventory levels, and foster strong supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will thrive in managing procurement processes within complex ERP systems and possess a passion for supply chain excellence. Key Responsibilities Execute transactional purchasing processes to support assigned commodity requirements Maintain accountability for purchased, consigned, and used inventory Manage procurement costs and delivery timelines based on forecasted demand Partner with warehouse, sales, dispatch, and installation teams to ensure proper inventory flow and chain of custody Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers Address and resolve supplier performance issues as needed Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership Support continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain processes Promote and drive adoption of standardized systems and processes Advise internal stakeholders on sourcing processes and procurement best practices Escalate procurement or sourcing issues to leadership when necessary Uphold company operating principles, including problem-solving and ethical standards Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred Minimum of 3+ years of relevant purchasing or supply chain experience required Core Competencies Strong understanding of supply chain functions and performance metrics Proven ability to manage projects and execute with minimal supervision Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and workflows Effective communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Financial acumen and ability to interpret key performance indicators Preferred Skills Experience in supply chain, procurement, or service-based operations Familiarity with inventory management, forecasting, and supplier performance tracking Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives or process optimization Certifications Supply Chain certification preferred (e.g., working toward or equivalent to certification through the Institute for Supply Management) Travel Requirements Primarily North America-based travel Minimal travel required, based on business needs Occasional travel to warehouse locations or supplier sites Work Environment On-site role at a Smart Care Solutions location Limited hybrid flexibility may be considered Fully remote work is not available for this position Key Performance Metrics Safety leadership Customer/stakeholder delivery performance Inventory levels (Days of Inventory - DOI) Technician and stakeholder feedback Goods Received / Not Invoiced (GRNI) Freight spend as a percentage of inventory Join us as a Purchasing Specialist to shape our supply chain success!
