Key ResponsibilitiesSourcing & Purchasing Process purchase requisitions into purchase orders; verify pricing, specifications, and delivery terms before issuance. Source and qualify new vendors for parts, consumables, and services, with priority on categories with limited local supply. Solicit and evaluate competitive quotes for higher-value or non-routine purchases. Expedite critical and emergency orders to prevent operational downtime, coordinating freight where standard lead times dont work.
Vendor & Contract Support Maintain day-to-day vendor communication: order confirmations, delivery tracking, and issue resolution. Support the Supply Chain and Procurement Manager in vendor performance tracking and periodic contract reviews. Maintain accurate vendor records, pricing agreements, and compliance documentation (COIs, W-9s, safety data sheets).Inventory Coordination Partner with the Warehouse team to align purchasing against min/max stocking levels for critical spares and consumables. Flag slow-moving, excess, or at-risk inventory for review. Support cycle counts and periodic physical inventories as needed.
Cost & Process Support Track open PO status and reconcile receipts against invoices; resolve discrepancies with Accounting. Identify consolidation and cost-saving opportunities within owned commodity categories. Maintain procurement records and reporting to support budget tracking.
Team Support Serve as backup to the Supply Chain and Procurement Manager on routine approvals and vendor escalations. Mentor and train junior buyers or warehouse staff on purchasing procedures as the team scales. Support onboarding of new procurement processes and systems.
QualificationsRequired Associates or Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent experience. 4+ years of procurement, purchasing, or buyer experience, ideally including exposure to industrial, mining, or remote-site operations. Strong vendor negotiation and sourcing skills. Proficiency with purchase order systems and Microsoft Excel. Ability to travel periodically to MRG's Silver Peak, NV site for onsite work, meetings, and vendor/warehouse coordination [
Preferred Experience purchasing for a mining, construction, or heavy industrial site. Familiarity with MSHA Part 48 requirements and site safety documentation. Experience with purchasing software systems.
Physical RequirementsThis is a remote role; the following apply during periodic onsite visits to the Silver Peak site: Ability to traverse rugged, uneven mine site terrain, including inclines and unpaved surfaces Exposure to outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and dust Valid drivers licenseWork EnvironmentThis is a remote-based role, working primarily from a home office with regular virtual coordination across purchasing, warehouse, and accounting systems. Periodic travel to the Silver Peak, NV site is required 1-2 times per month, during which the role splits time between an office/warehouse environment and the yard/laydown areas, with exposure to high-desert heat, cold, wind, and dust. The Senior Procurement Specialist interfaces regularly with the Warehouse team, Accounting, and site department leads (Maintenance, Processing, Construction, EHS). On-site housing and meals are provided during site visits as part of MRG's employee value proposition.
The employee may be required to perform other related duties as assigned to meet ongoing operational needs.

Position SummaryThe Senior Procurement Specialist executes the day-to-day sourcing, purchasing, and vendor coordination that keeps MRGs Silver Peak operation supplied. Working under the Supply Chain and Procurement Manager, this role owns a portfolio of commodity categories (parts, consumables, PPE, and site services), manages the purchase order lifecycle from requisition to receipt, and serves as the senior point of contact for urgent or complex sourcing needs that arise from the sites remote location.
