JOB SUMMARY
The Contract Temporary Purchasing and Planning Support Specialist will provide short-term support for purchasing and materials planning activities across two key value streams (GE Aero and Pratt & Whitney). This role will assist with purchase order placement, supplier alignment, material needs, and planning data accuracy to help support production continuity and internal customer requirements as the product lines move to a different Parker Site. Working in conjunction with Planning and Purchasing, this contract position will help ensure supply activities, delivery dates, and material requirements are aligned with production and planning needs.- Support purchasing activities for value streams, including purchase order placement and supplier follow-up.
- Assist with supply alignment to ensure materials are available to support production schedules.
- Help monitor material needs, delivery timing, and potential supply constraints.
- Ensure internal customer dates are accurately populated and maintained to support production and planning activities.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding purchase order status, delivery commitments, and material availability.
- Coordinate with planning, production, materials, and procurement teams to resolve purchasing or scheduling issues.
- Escalate shortages, late deliveries, or planning concerns.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and planning information in applicable business systems.
- Provide general administrative and transactional support related to purchasing and materials planning. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor"s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
- 1+ year in manufacturing business role, supply chain role preferred.
- Prior experience in purchasing, supply chain, materials planning, production planning, or manufacturing support preferred.
- Ability to support multiple priorities across two value streams.
- Strong attention to detail, especially with purchase orders, dates, schedules, and material requirements.
- Effective communication skills with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
