Full-Time | Hourly/Non-Exempt Position Overview We are partnering with an established manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Buyer to support its production operations. This position is responsible for purchasing materials needed for production while managing supplier relationships, inventory requirements, purchasing activity, and supply-related risks. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing purchasing experience, solid ERP/MRP knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Key Responsibilities Purchase materials and supplies required to support production and operational needs. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Review and approve purchase requisitions. Analyze suppliers and issue purchase orders, including appropriate follow-up and expediting. Manage purchasing risks related to quality, cost, delivery, and continuity of supply. Monitor supplier and vendor compliance with contractual agreements. Purchase MRO materials as needed. Monitor relevant market trends and supply conditions. Maintain purchasing and inventory data, including master data, reorder points, safety stock levels, and estimated annual usage. Partner cross-functionally to support production schedules and overall business needs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive supply chain/purchasing experience, preferably within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems;
SAP S/4HANA
experience is required Experience with vendor-managed inventory (VMI). International supply chain experience is a plus. APICS or purchasing certification is a plus. Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Strong sense of urgency with the ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Collaborative, team-oriented approach.
