About the role Axle Logistics of Knoxville, TN, is looking to hire highly motivated individuals for our 2027 Summer Internship Program. As an Operations Intern , you will be responsible for coordinating all processes and functions of shipment planning and freight movement. You will be helping our customers move their inventory in the most cost-effective way by identifying and providing logistics solutions, as well as providing visibility to management and clients in the form of tracking & tracing, auditing, researching, and troubleshooting all operational issues. This is not an Analytics role ; this is a role where you will be speaking directly to contracted carriers. What you'll do Operations Management Strong communication skills, both verbal and written First-class customer service to clients and carriers Ability to multitask within a fast-paced industry Capability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks Properly execute rate negotiations with partner carriers within the spot market Implementation of services Qualifications Highly motivated candidates looking to expand industry knowledge Strong email, phone, and face-to-face communication skills Fast learner capable of working independently as well as a team Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Interest in a future career in third party logistics
