Job Description This position exists to provide an efficient purchasing service for materials, supplies, equipment and services for Riverland Community College. The responsibilities include, but are not limited, to manage the purchase ordering process, create contracts for purchases as required by Minnstate policies, conducting requests for proposals and contracts for various needs of the college, maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and sensitive items. This position follows existing Minnstate and the Riverland Community College purchasing policies and procedures. Salary Range $23.98
  • $34.69 / $50,070
  • $72,433 Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of professional relevant work experience OR an associate's degree plus eighteen months related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
An associate degree could substitute for 6 months of experience, a bachelor's degree is 12 months, and a master's degree is 18 months within any of the following disciplines: accounting, finance or business. Effective communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, college faculty, and staff. Working knowledge of purchasing principles includes a thorough understanding of Request for Proposals and Request for Bids process. Strong computer experience with programs such as Microsoft Office; specifically excel and word. Ability to maintain purchasing, fixed assets, and any other records in an organized, efficient manner. Knowledge of business administration processes, such as accounting, purchasing and basic math. Knowledge of inventory control methods. Preferred Qualification Bachelor's degree in business or related field. Knowledge of systems such as SWIFT and the Minnesota State purchasing and accounting system i.e. Workday Knowledge of state statutes and Minnesota State policies and procedures. Knowledge of contract law and its general application. Bilingual / multilingual fluent in Spanish, Karen, Karenni, Somali, Pohnpeian, French, Nuer, Anuak, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities. Multilingual or multicultural background or experience working with underserved populations.
