Job description:
Fin Cabinetry & Furniture is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Purchasing & Inventory Manager to oversee purchasing, inventory control, and material logistics for our commercial custom cabinetry and architectural millwork operations. This position is critical to the success of our manufacturing team by ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to keep production moving efficiently. The ideal candidate has experience in commercial cabinetry, millwork, woodworking, or manufacturing and understands the importance of scheduling, inventory accuracy, vendor relationships, and production deadlines. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and is committed to maintaining an organized warehouse and purchasing system while supporting our project managers, engineering, and production teams. Responsibilities Purchase materials for commercial cabinetry and residential custom projects, including plywood, hardwoods, laminates, veneers, hardware, countertops, solid surface materials, fasteners, adhesives, and finishing products. Maintain inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production while minimizing excess inventory. Track purchase orders from creation through delivery and resolve any shipping or vendor issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors while negotiating pricing, lead times, and product availability. Coordinate material deliveries with production schedules and project timelines. Receive shipments, verify quantities and quality, and accurately enter inventory into company systems. Maintain organized warehouse storage, labeling, and inventory locations. Perform routine inventory counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy. Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Production, and Installation teams to forecast material requirements. Monitor material costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality and working closely with accounting. Coordinate returns, warranty claims, and damaged material replacements. Assist with fleet and trailer coordination for material pickups and deliveries as needed. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing and inventory management experience, preferably in commercial cabinetry, millwork, woodworking, manufacturing, or commercial construction. Strong understanding of cabinetry materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes. Experience purchasing materials for commercial construction or architectural millwork projects preferred. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Software Experience Preferred experience with:
Monday.com Knowify Kaizenify Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) Experience learning new software quickly is essential. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday. Comfortable working in both an office and warehouse/manufacturing environment. Ability to safely operate a forklift (or willingness to become certified). Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to safely drive a company truck while towing a trailer for material pickups and deliveries when necessary. Preferred Qualifications Experience in commercial cabinetry or architectural millwork manufacturing. Knowledge of plywood grades, laminates, hardwoods, veneers, cabinet hardware, and specialty building materials. Understanding of commercial construction schedules and sequencing. Experience coordinating deliveries with General Contractors and subcontractors. Knowledge of warehouse organization and inventory control best practices.
