Job Description
SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to maintain the purchasing system and relationships both inside and outside of the organization to ensure materials are purchased through approved quality vendors and internal departments receive materials needed for production and support purposes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Initiates purchase orders based on business requirements and inventory levels for both administrative and plant production needs, to include communication and requirements/acceptance criteria where applicable Initiates vendor qualification (or re-qualification) activities per quality management system requirements and provides input regarding vendor performance or the need for supplier corrective action Administers the purchasing database to ensure system is current and productive for all departments Monitors vendor pricing and availability in concert with estimated pricing included in customer quotes Expedites delayed orders and informs production staff or changes in lead-time or other factors impacting the schedule Resolves issues related to inventory returns, replacements, and credit arrangements Participates in production meetings and other informational meetings as needed Shows understanding of the functional and technical skills required to perform the job successfully Consistently demonstrates accuracy and timeliness in completing individually assigned tasks and projects Dedication in meeting customer expectations, creates, and maintains relationships with vendors and internal customers Makes good decisions using experience, judgment, objectivity, and analysis, and accomplishes tasks on time Consistently applies time management techniques to manage day to day activities Recognizes factors that contribute to poor time management Shows knowledge of subject matter and processes Demonstrates upmost level of integrity in all instances, shows respect towards others and towards company principles Demonstrates ability to make sound decisions with moderate supervision Shares key information with others involved in a project or task Accomplishes objectives, responds with timeliness and enthusiasm to directives, supports organizational decisions Takes responsibility and ownership for adhering to all company policies and procedures while also completing work in accordance with performance expectationsQUALIFICATONS
High school diploma Three to five (3 -5) years of experience with specialized training in the knowledge of manufacturing environmentsJob Type:
