CEC has experienced significant recent growth and has established itself as the go-to supplier for a diversified product line supporting a wide spectrum of markets from commercial products, military customers, to space research laboratories. The Sr. Procurement Specialist will carry out broad assignments involving the purchase of important items requiring extensive or specialized knowledge and experience, usually involving responsibility for a high volume and high dollar level of purchases. Reports to the Sr. Procurement Manager. Responsibilities Reviews requisitions and issues purchase orders to the optimum advantage of the company based on value, quality, delivery, and price Assists in the selection of qualified suppliers through facility inspection and personal inquiry and adjudicates difference between CEC and vendors Obtains quotations as required and selects vendors Performs liaison between requisitioning departments and suppliers May aid in the interpretation of specifications, prints, sources of materials, tools, etc., and may provide technical fabrication assistance Recommends changes or substitutes when specific materials are not available or when quality may be improved or costs reduced May provide Production Control with quantity price break information and necessary lead-time required for economic lot purchases Maintains follow-up on all open orders through correspondence and other lines of communication depending on urgency Advises Sr. Procurement Manager on status of open orders periodically to determine action to be taken on delinquent orders May order tools, gages, and material as required from their respective areas within the company to augment the processing of orders, and may expedite new vendor produced tooling parts for approval, and release them after approval Assists Sr. Procurement Manager in preparation of reports and maintenance records Reviews rejected parts as to source and makes final disposition Assists in the training of buyers Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business Qualifications At least 8 years of directly related Procurement experience Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint Experience with multiple ERP Systems Able to adapt and work multiple priorities as needed Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university. 5+ years of experience working with CNC machine shops Highly skilled at reading machined, build-to-print drawings and/or technical data packages Preferred Qualifications Experience with Deltek Costpoint 2+ years of Leadership/Management Experience is preferred Pay may range from $119,000 to $143,000 annually The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations. Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
