Job Summary:
Maintains data integrity, accuracy, and ensures adherence to Company standards within the systems. Validates all submitted information to make required adjustments to accurately set up new items and vendors, manage item changes, and ensure the seamless import and validation of electronic data files into SAP.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs mass item maintenance activities, including strategic changes in collaboration with Category Managers. Maintains accurate updates across all systems for new categories or sub-categories created within the category management department to support strategic growth initiatives. Oversees and validates electronic files from vendors, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness for impactful decision-making. Monitors site and tax code maintenance, and executes changes related to tax codes on articles, aligning with financial strategies. Facilitates the implementation of deals and cost changes within SAP systems to optimize profitability. Monitors and resolves critical category management data issues, supporting new store openings and closures with precision. Monitors and resolves complex article issues, escalating as necessary to ensure seamless operations. Collaborates closely with category management and cross-functional teams to streamline vendor and product-related workflows. Supports system testing efforts by providing expert guidance on setting up and validating test data, ensuring robust system performance. Monitors, researches and resolves intricate inquiries from retail partners regarding ad pricing and scanning communication, ensuring alignment with promotional strategies. Conducts validation of electronic data files submitted by category management personnel and suppliers, maintaining high standards of data integrity. Communicates item-specific details, such as ad pricing and scanning information, to retail partners through strategic channels. Researches and provides detailed insights to the accounting department to resolve billing discrepancies, optimizing financial processes. Serves as a primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and concerns, including setting up new vendors and facilitating access to BGC portals with a focus on efficiency and compliance. Monitors and analyzes JDA validation reports from merchandising, proactively addressing store reset needs and ensuring updates to enhance operational efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Intermediate knowledge of SAP reporting and transactional applications. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Basic mathematical skills for calculating discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information. Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence. Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form. Ability to comprehend and interpret information. Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes. Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems. Ability to show information in presentation or diagram form. Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays. Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible. Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
Associate's degree in related field and two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required. Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
Physical Demands:
Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus. Frequently required to talk and hear. Frequently required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling. Frequently required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing). Frequently required to sit for long periods of time. Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs. Occasionally required to bend, kneel or squat. Occasionally required to stand or walk. Attendance at work is required.
