About ARES Corporation ARES Corporation is an employee-owned aerospace and engineering services company supporting critical national programs across NASA, the Department of Defense, and other Federal agencies. For more than 60 years, ARES has delivered innovative engineering, program management, safety and mission assurance, information technology, and mission operations support for complex and high-impact missions. ARES is the prime contractor for the Wallops Range Contract supporting NASA Wallops Flight Facility. This contract delivers mission-critical range operations, engineering, maintenance, logistics, and sustainment services supporting orbital and suborbital launches, telemetry, radar, communications, and associated range infrastructure. This position has an anticipated start date of September 2026. Position Overview ARES is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support acquisition and purchasing activities for the Wallops Range Contract (WRC). This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective procurement of goods and services necessary to support mission operations and infrastructure sustainment. The selected candidate be resident in the WRC/Ares offices at Wallops Flight Facility and will work closely with/for program management, technical teams, and subcontractors to manage procurement actions in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), NASA requirements, and ARES policies. Key Responsibilities Execute procurement activities including requisition review, solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, and award of purchase orders. Manage purchase request workflow and approval process Ensure all procurement actions comply with
FAR, NASA FAR
Supplement (NFS), and company policies and procedures. Support the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs), and other solicitation packages. Support the evaluate supplier proposals for technical compliance, cost reasonableness, and overall best value. Support ARES corporate and WRC teams to negotiate terms and conditions, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Coordinate with program, finance, and legal teams to ensure proper documentation and compliance throughout the procurement lifecycle. Maintain procurement records and documentation to support audits and contract requirements. Support the management and tracking of shipments and inventory Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and compliance with contractual requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, subcontract administration, or supply chain management in a government contracting environment. Working knowledge of FAR and applicable agency supplements (e.g., NFS). Experience with purchasing software such as Costpoint and Maximo Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
