Richland, WA Job Description The Procurement Engineer is responsible for ensuring proper fit, form, and function of spare parts while maintaining availability in compliance with station design requirements and regulatory commitments. The role will prepare technical and quality evaluations for replacement equipment and plant components, evaluate substitutions, revise design databases, prepare dedication plans for commercial-grade items, develop procurement specifications, perform equipment qualification and quality classification analyses, and resolve technical and quality-related procurement issues. Key Responsibilities Perform complex engineering analyses and designs supporting operations, systems, programs, audits, inspections, and assessments. Apply engineering methods, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Provide technical leadership, guidance, mentoring, and training to other engineers and team members. Lead small groups in resolving complex engineering issues. Develop and implement policies, programs, plans, and procedures to meet strategic objectives. Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry guidance and provide interpretation for application. Identify design, quality, or operational issues and initiate corrective actions through the plant Condition Report (CR) process. Perform engineering analysis and design supporting system and project activities. Support design modifications, operations, and independent assessments. Assist with audits, testing, and inspections. Apply engineering judgment when evaluating results and findings. Perform problem resolution through established plant processes. Required Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and 8 years of engineering experience ; OR High school diploma or GED and PE license obtained by accredited examination plus 8 years of engineering experience . Required Skills & Abilities Verify fit, form, and function of spare parts. Maintain accurate parts inventory and ensure parts availability. Ensure compliance with design requirements and regulatory commitments. Prepare technical and quality evaluations for replacement equipment and plant components. Evaluate substitutions and revise design databases. Prepare dedication plans for commercial-grade items. Prepare procurement specifications. Perform equipment qualification analyses. Perform quality classification of equipment and parts. Evaluate and resolve technical and quality-related procurement problems. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Procurement Engineer or Procurement Specialist . Previous experience with Digital Electrical components .
