Job Description

Position Summary JW Industries LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to manage purchasing activities that support our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for sourcing materials, placing and managing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring materials are received and accurately entered into the ERP system to support production schedules. The Buyer will work closely with Operations, Production, Engineering, Sales, and Finance to ensure the right materials are available at the right time while maintaining cost-effective purchasing practices and driving continuous improvement throughout the supply chain. Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and manage supplier purchase orders to support production schedules and customer demand.
  • Review and maintain material requirements within Job
BOSS ERP.
  • Analyze material requirements for stock products and custom projects to ensure timely procurement.
  • Maintain and update job templates within JobBOSS.
  • Source materials and obtain competitive pricing while balancing quality, lead time, and supplier performance.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular communication and performance management.
  • Confirm purchase order acknowledgements, delivery schedules, packaging and labeling requirements, shipping methods, and quality expectations with suppliers.
  • Develop supplier standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure supplier compliance.
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively resolve supply, delivery, quality, or pricing issues.
  • Track inbound shipments and communicate delivery updates or delays to Operations and Production.
  • Receive purchased materials into the Job
BOSS ERP
system by accurately recording receipts, verifying quantities against purchase orders and packing slips, and ensuring inventory records remain accurate.
  • Resolve receiving discrepancies with suppliers, including shortages, overages, damaged materials, and incorrect shipments.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and receiving records to support inventory accuracy and material traceability.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and participate in supplier selection and contract negotiations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, and process improvements.
  • Evaluate make-versus-buy opportunities.
  • Develop Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations to forecast material requirements and support business growth.
  • Prepare and communicate monthly raw material pricing trend reports to Operations and Sales.
  • Assist with maintaining efficient material flow and organization throughout the facility. Qualifications

  • Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset. Preferred Experience
  • Minimum of three years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience purchasing raw materials, fabricated components, or industrial products.
  • Experience in metal fabrication or metal manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience using an ERP system; JobBOSS experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience with supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing, and Lean Manufacturing is preferred. Benefits
