Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer/Planner to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and supplies necessary for production while ensuring optimal inventory levels. You will work closely with various departments to forecast needs, negotiate contracts, and maintain quality standards throughout the purchasing process. Duties Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely acquisition of materials. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions. Manage inventory levels using MRP systems to optimize stock availability while minimizing excess. Collaborate with production teams to understand material requirements for fabrication processes. Monitor supplier performance and conduct quality management assessments to ensure compliance with standards. Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to inform purchasing decisions. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information. Skills Strong negotiation skills with a focus on contract management. Proficient in materials management systems, including MRP software. Knowledge of fabrication processes and supply chain dynamics. Excellent analytical skills for evaluating supplier performance and market conditions. Knowledge of metal grades and alloys a plus. Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve organizational goals. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
